Nashik Lok Sabha Election Result

Nashik Lok Sabha Election Results

It was in Nashik that the Shiv Sena’s Godse Tukaram staged a major upset and defeated NCP strongman Chhaggan Bhujbal in 2014. The NCP had held this seat twice before the 2014 elections. Nashik has been a Congress bastion for long and the party has won this seat 8 times in the past. The NCP on the other hand has won it twice. The Shiv Sena too has won this seat twice and the BJP once. The Congress-NCP combine appears to be a strong player this year, with there being confusion on a Shiv Sena-BJP truck in Maharashtra. This makes the contest a very interesting one out here. Nashik is the 3rd largest district in Maharashtra. In all there are 1,448,414 voters here of which 764,374 are male and the remaining 684,040 are female. It is also the 11th most populated district of the country. The Nashik parliamentary constituency is divided into six segments. Nashik city is the administrative centre of the district and is very famous for its Kumbh Mela, one of the largest religious gatherings which takes place once in 12 years. Now coming to the sitting MP, Tukaram. He has an attendance of 88 per cent in the Lok Sabha. He has asked 432 questions and has taken part in 32 debates.
