Shiv Sena (SHS) Flag

Shiv Sena election symbol is the Bow and Arrow. The Election Commission of India reserved it for the Shinde faction on February 17, 2023. Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) uses the Flaming Torch symbol. The Party Logo for voters is the assigned election symbol. This followed a split in June 2022. The Supreme Court declined to stay that order on February 22, 2023, during a hearing.

The Commission froze the name and symbol after that split. In October 2022, SS(UBT) received Flaming Torch as an interim symbol. Shindes group used Two Swords and Shield temporarily. Final adjudication restored Bow and Arrow to the recognised Shiv Sena.

SS: Symbol Allocation and Flag Status

Shiv Sena flag has no separate official recognition by the Commission. The Election Commission of India allots symbols under the Symbols Order. Party flags function as organisational identifiers, not ballot instruments. Campaign flag display follows Model Code rules on size and number.

In seat-sharing arrangements, alliances did not change symbol use. In 2024, Mahayuti candidates of Shiv Sena contested with Bow and Arrow, while SS(UBT) campaigned with Flaming Torch within MVA/INDIA. The ECI refined SS(UBT)s torch design in October 2024. Party Abbreviation: SS; this symbol remains vital to political identity.
