Ajmer Lok Sabha Election Result

Ajmer Lok Sabha Election Results

Ajmer Parliamentary Constituency is one of the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in Rajasthan formed in 1952. It presently comprises of eight Vidhan Sabha segments two of which have been reserved for the SC category. It is located in the center of Rajasthan at a distance of about 135 km west of the capital of the state. The city lies at an average elevation of 486 meters and is surrounded by the Aravalli Hills. Lamba is the son of Sanwar Lal Jat, who represented the Ajmer Lok Sabha seat and died of cardiac arrest last year. Raghu Sharma won Ajmer Lok Sabha seat with a margin of 84,414 votes following Lamba\'s death. The Congress, which had drawn a blank in Rajasthan in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections (it did win two seats — Ajmer and Alwar — in the bypolls held in February 2018), is now confident its success in the recent assembly polls will pave the way for improved performance in April-May, too, when the next parliamentary elections are expected to be held. A state-wise analysis of the same data suggests that the BJP might lose the maximum number of Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan, where the party had bagged all the 25 seats on offer in 2014. Going by the trends, the BJP’s tally in the desert state could fall to 13 seats, which would represent a loss of 12 seats for the BJP. The Congress which had drawn a blank could hope to win 12 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan. The total number of voters here is 11,56,314 of which 5,41,617 are female and 6,14,697 are male as per the Election commission of India 2014 data.
