Biography
Dr.Subramanian Swamy is an Indian economist, statistician and politician who serves as a Member of Parliament in Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. Swamy has served as a member of the Planning Commission of India and was a Cabinet Minister in the Chandra Shekhar government. Swamy was one of the founding members of Janata Party. He served as the party's president since its inception in 1990 till 2013 when it got merged with the BJP. He was elected to the Lok Sabha five times between 1974 and 1999.
Subramanian Swamy pursued bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the Hindu College, University of Delhi. He also earned master's degree in Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. Swamy went to Harvard University on a full Rockefeller scholarship where he also received his PhD degree in Economics.

2012
Supreme Court of India accepted Swamy's petition against the PMP in the 2G case. Raja was arrested by the CBI in the case and got bail on 15 May 2012. Finally, on December 21 2017, the special CBI Court Judge acquitted the accused including A Raja.

Subramanian Swamy wrote five letters to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking permission to prosecute then telecom minister A. Raja in regard to 2G spectrum case.

Achievements
Subramanian Swamy was just 24 years old when he completed his Ph.D. from the Harvard University. He was one of the founding members of the political party that won elections after the emergency. He was made the Cabinet Minister even though he was the opposition leader.
He played a key role in making it possible for the Hindus in India to access the Kailash Mansarovar. His analysis of China is so strong that even Manmohan Singh or Indira Gandhi used to seek Dr Swamy's views. Swamy who moved the Supreme Court seeking that the project is scrapped as the original route was to cut across Ram Sethu and it was successful in this.
His paper ‘Notes on Fractile Graphical Analysis’ was published in Econometrica, 1963 . He got Recommendation for Harvard and Completed PhD from Harvard at an age of 24 and then he with Paul Samuelson published the paper on the theory of index numbers in 1974.
In 1994, Swamy was Chairman of the Commission on Labour Standards and International Trade by former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao. He also serves as chairman of the Board of Governors of the SCMS Group of Educational Institutions in Kerala. He has written on foreign affairs of India dealing largely with the People's Republic of China (PRC), Pakistan and Israel.
