In 2022, Narinder Kaur Bharaj of the Aam Aadmi Party won the seat by defeating Vijay Inder Singla of the Indian National Congress with a margin of 36430 votes.
Sangrur Assembly constituency falls under the Patiala Lok sabha constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Indian National Congress candidate Preneet Kaur won from Patiala Lok Sabha (MP) Seat with the margin of 162718 votes by defeating Surjit Singh Rakhra of the Shiromani Akali Dal.
