In 2022, Dara Singh Chauhan of the Samajwadi Party won the seat by defeating Vijay Rajbhar of the Bharatiya Janata Party with a margin of 22216 votes.
Ghosi Assembly constituency falls under the Jahanabad Lok sabha constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Janata Dal (United) candidate Chandeshwar Prasad won from Jahanabad Lok Sabha (MP) Seat with the margin of 1751 votes by defeating Surendra Prasad Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal.
