In 2022, Maharaji Prajapati of the Samajwadi Party won the seat by defeating Sanjay Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party with a margin of 18096 votes.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Smriti Irani won from Amethi Lok Sabha (MP) Seat with the margin of 55120 votes by defeating Rahul Gandhi of the Indian National Congress.
