In 2020, Jayant Raj of the Janata Dal (United) won the seat by defeating Jitendra Singh of the Indian National Congress with a margin of 3114 votes.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Janata Dal (United) candidate Giridhari Yadav won from Banka Lok Sabha (MP) Seat with the margin of 200532 votes by defeating Jai Prakash Narayan Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal.
