2020
VIP joined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the Bihar Assembly elections. The party contested 11 constituencies and won 4 seats, marking its entry into the Bihar Legislative Assembly and establishing itself as a rising regional force.
2019
The party made its electoral debut during the Lok Sabha elections, contesting several seats in Bihar. Although VIP did not secure any parliamentary seats, it gained visibility for highlighting issues faced by backward and underrepresented communities.
2018
The Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) was founded by Mukesh Sahani, popularly known as the “Son of Mallah.” The party was established to represent the interests of the Nishad, Mallah, and other marginalized riverine communities in Bihar and to advocate for their social and political empowerment.
