In 2020, Ali Ashraf Siddiqui of the Rashtriya Janata Dal won the seat by defeating Lakshmi Kant Mandal of the Janata Dal (United) with a margin of 7756 votes.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Janata Dal (United) candidate Ajay Kumar Mandal won from Bhagalpur Lok Sabha (MP) Seat with the margin of 277630 votes by defeating Shailesh Kumar of the Rashtriya Janata Dal.
