Salem (West) is an assembly constituency in Tamil Nadu. In 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the total percentage of voters in Salem (West) Assembly Constituency was recorded at 71.9 percent.Salem (West) comes under Salem district of Tamil Nadu State. A.Rajendran (DMK), R.Arul (PMK), Thiyagarajan (MNM), Nagammal (NTK), Alagapuram R. Mohanraj (DMDK) are key candidates contested from Salem (West) constituency in the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections along with many other independent candidates. In 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the total percentage of voters in Salem (West) Assembly Constituency was recorded at 71.9 percent.
In 2021, R.arul of the Pattali Makkal Katchi won the seat by defeating A.rajendran of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam with a margin of 21499 votes.
Salem (West) Assembly constituency falls under the Salem Lok sabha constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate Parthiban.s.r won from Salem Lok Sabha (MP) Seat with the margin of 146926 votes by defeating Saravanan.k.r.s of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.
