In 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the total percentage of voters in Kanniyakumari Assembly Constituency was recorded at 75.34 percent.Kanniyakumari comes under Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu State. Austin (DMK), Thalavai Sundaram (AIADMK), P. T SELVAKUMAR (MNM), Sasikala (NTK), Senthil Murugan (AMMK) are key candidates contested from Kanniyakumari constituency in the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections along with many other independent candidates. In 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the total percentage of voters in Kanniyakumari Assembly Constituency was recorded at 75.34 percent.
In 2021, Thalavai Sundaram of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won the seat by defeating Austin of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam with a margin of 16213 votes.
Kanniyakumari Assembly constituency falls under the Kanniyakumari Lok sabha constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Indian National Congress candidate Vasanthakumar. H won from Kanniyakumari Lok Sabha (MP) Seat with the margin of 259933 votes by defeating Radhakrishnan. P of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
