Elections is a tool to install democracy at all levels. It ensures that the most popular voice of every region is represented in the Parliament of India and the legislative assemblies of states. Section 151A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 mandates the Election Commission to fill the casual vacancies in the Houses of Parliament and State Legislatures through bye-elections within six months from the date of occurrence of the vacancy, provided that the remainder of the term of a member in relation to a vacancy is one year or more.
Hence, 7 assembly constituencies in Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Telangana, Punjab, Mizoram and Odisha would go into bye-election on 11th November 2025 and the counting of the votes would take place on 14th November 2025. Parties are hitting hard in the streets to strengthen their position by winning these bypolls. Who is ahead and who runs behind... which party will improve its tally and which one will give a tough run to others! To know all the updates about these bye-elections stay tuned in with us.
