Tamizhaga Vaazhvurimai Katchi election symbol is not a permanently reserved symbol. The Election Commission of India lists unrecognised parties receiving free symbols under the Symbols Order. Therefore, the partys political identity on ballots can change between elections conducted by the Commission. Such symbols come from the states notified free list.

In December 2019, Tamil Nadus State Election Commission allotted Camera as TVKs symbol for local polls. This applied to TNSEC-run elections only. It gave no privilege with the Election Commission of India for Assembly or Lok Sabha. TNSEC amended its symbols order to allow such common symbols for registered unrecognised parties.

Tamizhaga Vaazhvurimai Katchi flag is not an ECI-notified electoral identifier. The Commissions Symbols Order governs symbols, not flags. Any party logo used in publicity is separate from ballot symbols and may vary. For elections, recognition relates only to allotted symbols under that Order.

The party abbreviation TVK is contested with actor Vijays Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam. T. Velmurugan has written to the Election Commission of India claiming party registered the acronym first. Allies may use a partners symbol; in 2021, MMK and KMDK won on DMKs Rising Sun.
