Bhai Virendra Yadav came into this world on 3 May 1961 in Maner, Patna district, Bihar. He completed his Bachelor's degree from Magadh University and then ventured into local politics. He became a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and actively supported it. Over the years, his name has been associated with a loud, confrontational, and people-oriented leader. Bhai's political career is a combination of his indefatigability and involvement in some controversies that are quite a common scenario of the political culture of Bihar.
He has been a member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly since 2010, representing Maner constituency, which he has successfully made his stronghold during the elections. He is a direct person and, therefore, his statements and fights in the Assembly have often been the topics of the media. Virendra Bhai, as he is popularly known, has enough supporters to give him the edge over his opponents despite a few controversies sprinkled here and there, and he is still the one who carries the flag of RJD high in Patna district most of the time.
He is going to fight the election once again in Maner, Bihar Legislative Assembly constituency in 2025, Bhai Virendra being the candidate. Through his election campaign, he assures the people of the Maner area that he will focus more on their development, provide them with better infrastructure, and take care of the farmers' welfare, but at the same time, he has to fend off criticism for certain incidents that have happened in public lately. It would not be wrong to say that his sustained popularity among people of the RJD and the Patna district is a measure of his leadership talent as well as their trust in him.
In November 2025, Bhai Virendra Yadav of the RJD won the Maner Assembly seat, receiving 110,798 votes and finishing ahead of Jitendra Yadav by a margin of 20,034 votes, reaffirming his strong base in the region.
