Uday Narayan Chaudhary

Uday‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Narayan Chaudhary (born 8 August 1952) is a long-time leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) from Bihar and the ex-Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly (2005 – 2015). He is a notable Dalit personality in Bihar politics with a B.A. degree from Patna University, and his assets are declared to be around ₹1.47 crore.

As of 2025, he is still active and will be contesting in the next Bihar Assembly elections; thus, he is a great source of political power at the state level, and his influence is still very much ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌alive.

He contested the Bihar Assembly Election in November 2025 from the Sikandra (SC) constituency as an RJD candidate but did not win.

Over time, he has been recognized as a leader at the grassroots level who has the most support of the Dalit communities, and after associating with various political formations for a while, he finally took the RJD as his political home.

Moreover, Chaudhary was the Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from 2005 to 2015, a decade when he was instrumental in the parliament's working and rules of procedure. He was involved in numerous interventions during his incumbency and became a familiar name in the political arena of Bihar.
