Prem Chand Gupta Biography

Prem Chand Gupta was born to N.R. Gupta and Shanti Devi at Bhiwani in Haryana on 3rd February 1950. He married Sarla Gupta on 2nd December 1972. The couple has been blessed with one daughter and two sons.

He was elected to the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian parliament from Bihar in 2020 as a Rashtriya Janata Dal member.

He is a member of the Committee on Ethics. Additionally, he is a member of the House Committee. Furthermore, he is a member of the General Purposes Committee. Lastly, he is a member of the Committee on Subordinate Legislation.

He is active in helping with education, social work, and cultural growth. In addition to this, he is dedicated to helping the poorer and less fortunate people, and he has made a big impact on them. He is focused on helping poor widows financially and improving the lives of those who are struggling.

He is interested in making sure that companies run well and that people who invest their money are kept safe. He holds a special interest in corporate governance, emphasizing investor protection for sustainable growth. Before entering politics, he as an industrialist, recognised challenges in the corporate world.

He has travelled all over the world and even spoke at big meetings at the United Nations in 2000 and 2002. Apart from this, he is trained as a pilot in a flying club. He enjoys jogging and playing cricket & table tennis.
