Osama Shahab

Osama​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Shahab is a politician from India, representing the region of Bihar. He is the son of the late Mohammad Shahabuddin, a politically influential and controversial figure who held the positions of MP and MLA from Siwan. Osama, born in Siwan, comes from a politically engaged household. After the demise of his father in 2021, Osama, with his mother, Hena Shahab, decided to take the plunge and stepped into the arena of active politics to continue the family's political dynasty.

Osama made his political affiliation with RJD official in 2024 when he formally joined the party. This was his first move in the Bihar political scene. He will be the candidate from RJD at the Raghunathpur Assembly in the Bihar elections 2025. The main points of his campaign are the promotion of social welfare, community development, and solving the problems of the local people of the constituency.

Osama has been in the limelight for reiterating the Shahabuddin family's dominance in Siwan through his direct contact programs, public meetings, and party events. Although he is just at the beginning of his political career, he is considered one of the main personalities who can help the RJD gain more support from the voters in his ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌locality.

In November 2025, Osama Shahab, son of the late Mohammad Shahabuddin, won the Raghunathpur Assembly seat for the RJD, polling 88,278 votes and defeating JD(U)’s Vikash Kumar Singh by a margin of 9,248 votes, reviving his father’s political legacy in Siwan.
