Alok Kumar Mehta represents the RJD political party in Bihar. His date of birth is 3rd of November 1966, and his place of birth is Patna. In 1990, he got his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Bangalore University. Mehta was always close to politics, being from a politically vibrant family, and took the plunge into politics at a very young age. He is one of the founders of the RJD Party and has been in charge of major organizational responsibilities since then.

Mehta has been a prominent member of Parliament in the Indian Lower House representing the Samastipur constituency for a term beginning from 2004. In the following elections to the Lok Sabha in 2009, he did not manage to retain the seat. He has solidified the influence over local politics of the state by being elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly from Ujiarpur, 2015. As a politician, he has been an efficient debater in the assembly and has concentrated on the development of the areas and implementation of good governance and social welfare schemes.
