Since 1949, Rajasthan has seen 13 Chief Ministers, starting from Heera Lal Shastri who took oath in 1949 to currently
longest serving Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot who took oath in December 2018, he has served for 14years, followed by
second longest tenure served by CM Mohan Lal Sukhadia. Vasundhara Raje Scindia from the BJP Party is the only women Chief Minister of the state who served a full term for 5 years. There have been three instances of President's rule in Rajasthan. The major ruling party has been INC and BJP.
