Bulu Chik Baraik is a politician from West Bengal associated with the tribal belt of Jalpaiguri district. He first rose to prominence in state politics during the 2011 West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections, when he contested from the Mal (ST) constituency as a candidate of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and won a seat in the 15th West Bengal Legislative Assembly. His victory established him as a significant political representative from the Scheduled Tribe-reserved constituency.
In the 2016 West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections, he contested again from the Mal constituency, this time as a candidate of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC). He was re-elected to the 16th West Bengal Legislative Assembly, defeating CPI(M) candidate Augustus Kerketta and retaining the seat under the AITC banner. This marked a shift in his political affiliation and consolidated his position within state-level politics.
Following his re-election in 2016, he continued to be active in constituency affairs and state politics. In subsequent electoral cycles, including the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections, the Mal constituency witnessed continued political contestation among major parties, reflecting the evolving political landscape of the region.
As of 2026, Bulu Chik Baraik remains associated with the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) and continues to be engaged in political and public affairs related to the Mal constituency and the broader tribal communities of northern West Bengal.
