Arpita Ghosh was elected to 16th Lok Sabha in the 2014 general elections after defeating Bimalendu Sarkar (Bimal) of RSP from Balurghat constituency.

Even after joining politics and wining Loksabha Election, she continue her contribution as theatre artist. In 2014 she directed Pancham Vaidic’s production “Duto Din”. In 2015 she adapted, scripted and directed the play “Karubasana” of Pancham Vaidic.
Arpita first directed a children’s play named ‘Ha Ja Ba Ra La’. Later she directed many plays. Also she acted in other groups.
She joined Pancham Ved Charjashram as a student of theatre. After completing the 1 year course, she started working with Pancham Vaidic.
Arpita Ghosh joined theatre and started working in a group named ‘Fourth Wall’, a group famous for major plays.
