Jyoti Priya Mallick

Jyoti Priya Mallick entered public life through grassroots political activity in the North 24 Parganas district, gradually building his profile within West Bengal politics. His early years in public engagement laid the foundation for a long legislative career, marked by repeated electoral success and administrative responsibilities at the state level.

He first entered the West Bengal Legislative Assembly in 2001, winning from the Gaighata Assembly constituency. He retained the seat in 2006, establishing himself as a consistent electoral performer and a recognised political representative in the region. His early legislative work focused on constituency development and assembly participation.

In 2011, Mallick shifted to the Habra Assembly constituency, where he was elected as an MLA and simultaneously inducted into the West Bengal Council of Ministers. He served as Minister for Food & Supplies for a decade, during which he was responsible for overseeing public distribution and food security administration across the state.

Following the 2021 Assembly elections, he continued his ministerial career with responsibilities including Forest Affairs and Non-Conventional & Renewable Energy Sources, contributing to policy implementation in environmental governance and alternative energy sectors. His tenure reflected continuity in administrative engagement within the state government framework.

As of 2026, he continues in public life as a Member of the Legislative Assembly, serving in legislative proceedings and constituency-level engagement within West Bengal.
