List of Chief Ministers of Jharkhand & Their Tenure Periods
The Chief Minister of Jharkhand serves as the head of the government for the Indian state of Jharkhand. Since the state's creation on 15 November 2000, seven individuals have held this position.
Half of these leaders, including the inaugural Chief Minister Babulal Marandi, have been from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Among them, Arjun Munda, also from the BJP, stands out as the longest-serving Chief Minister, holding office for over five years across three separate terms, although he never completed a full term.
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has had three leaders occupy the post: Shibu Soren, his son Hemant Soren, and Champai Soren. Hemant Soren, representing the JMM, is the current Chief Minister.
