Deepa Manjhi rose to prominence through her electoral victory in the 2024 by-election for the Imamganj Assembly Constituency, where she successfully contested as a candidate for the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) party, which is an alliance partner within the NDA. This seat was previously held by her father-in-law, Jitan Ram Manjhi, who vacated it after being elected to the Lok Sabha in 2024.
