Amarendra Kumar Pandey, born on 5 October 1974, in Nayagaon, Tulasiya, Gopalganj district, Bihar, has carved a considerable political career in the state.
He completed his matriculation from Bhavesh Chand High School under the Bihar Secondary Education Board in 1991, followed by his Intermediate (Science) from J.P. University, Chhapra, V. B.N. College in 2004. His professional background includes business and agriculture.
Pandey's political journey began early, as he became the District Board Chairman of Gopalganj in 2001. He was first elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in 2005 on a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ticket. Later in the same year, he successfully contested and won the assembly election as a candidate for the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)).
He has consistently served the Kuchaikote constituency, winning the assembly elections in 2010, 2015, and 2020. In the 2010 election, he defeated Aditya Narayan Pandey, and in both the 2015 and 2020 general elections, he triumphed over ex-member of parliament Kali Prasad Pandey, securing a victory margin of 20,630 votes in 2020. Currently, he serves as the Member of Legislative Assembly from Kuchaikote, as well as the co-chairman of the question and attention attraction's limited Bihar assembly, and the State General Secretary of Janata Dal (United).
Amarendra Kumar Pandey is married to Ranju Pandey, and they have two sons, Nitesh Kumar Pandey and Aditya Gaurav.
In November 2025, Amrendra Kumar Pandey won the Kuchaikote assembly seat for JDU with 101,425 votes, beating Congress’s Hari Narayan Singh by 24,491 votes, extending his long‑standing legislative presence.
