Chhedi Paswan

Chhedi Paswan was a former Member of Legislative assembly and presently a Member of Parliament who serves in the Mohanioa constituency in Bihar. He was previously a member of JDU but in 2014 due to discord with party leader Nitish Kumar, he shifted his alliance to BJP.

2014

He was elected to 16th Lok Sabha from Sasaram as a BJP candidate where he defeated Meira Kumar of INC by a margin of 63,327 votes.

2010

He retained the assembly seat in Mohania by defeating Niranjan Ram of RJD by a margin of 2525 votes.

2005

He contested and lost the assembly election from Mohania constituency. However, he bagged the seat in the by-elections and usurped Suresh Pasi of RJD's claim to the seat by a winning margin of 14,162 votes.

2000

He contested and won the assembly election from Chenari constituency by a margin of 5685 votes. Paswan was also elected the Minister of State, Agriculture, (Independent Charge), in the Government of Bihar.

1991

He was re-elected to serve a second term in Sasaram, where he once again thwarted his rival Meera Kumar of INC. He lost the following election (1996) against Muni Lal of BJP.

1989

He won his first parliamentary election from Sasaram constituency as a JD candidate. He defeated Meera Kumar of INC by a margin of 1,13,656 votes.

1985

He contested and won the assembly election from Chenari with an LKD ticket. He defeated Bans Ropan Ram of INC by a margin of 2235 votes.

Paswan has served four terms in Legislative assembly and he has elected three terms as the MP of Bihar.
