  • He retained the assembly seat in Mohania by defeating Niranjan Ram of RJD by a margin of 2525 votes.
2005
  • He contested and lost the assembly election from Mohania constituency. However, he bagged the seat in the by-elections and usurped Suresh Pasi of RJD's claim to the seat by a winning margin of 14,162 votes.
