Indian National League election symbol is not permanently reserved with the Election Commission of India. INL is a registered, unrecognised party, so candidates receive free symbols from returning officers. The Election Symbols Order, 1968, governs such allotment. In the 2021 Kerala Assembly election, Ahamed Devarkovil won Kozhikode South as an INL candidate. Results and assembly records list him under INL within the Left Democratic Front. Returning officers allotted the symbol per the Election Commissions rules. Seatsharing did not change the symbol process for INL nominees.
