Prasun Banerjee

Banerjee was included in the All Time Best-XI team of Mohun Bagan Club as a Central Defensive Midfielder. He was only the second Indian to play for Asian All-star XI. He also played two matches against Brazil for Asian All-star XI and played against Zico, Eder, Falcao, Socretes and others. He was included in the Limca book of record for representing India in 100 football matches.

• Re-elected to 17th Lok Sabha for its 3rd consecutive term.

• He was re-elected to the 16th Lok Sabha for 2nd term by defeating Sridip Bhattacharya of CPM from Howrah constituency.

• Prasun Banerjee was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha in a bye-election by defeating Left Front's Sridip Bhattacharya from Howrah constituency.

He has the distinction of being the first national level footballer to get elected to the Lok Sabha. Cosmos (Brazil). The Cosmos team included many world cup players including the extraordinary player, King of Football ‘Pele’. 1983 : Represented Asian All Star Football Team against Brazil XI at Kualalampur and Bangkok and considers this as a great achievement in his football career.
