Shahjahan Sheikh Biography

Shahjahan Sheikh, also known as "Bhai," started off working in fishing and making bricks near the Bangladesh border in North 24 Parganas. He began as a worker and later got into politics. He became a leader in the brick kilns' union in 2004 and then joined the local CPI(M) group. Even as politics changed in West Bengal, he stayed active in his community.

His powerful speeches and leadership caught the attention of Trinamool Congress leaders in 2012. With support from figures like Mukul Roy and Jyotipriyo Mullick, he joined TMC and quickly climbed the ranks, forming a close bond with Mullick.

Shahjahan continued to rise politically, becoming president of the Sandeshkhali TMC branch and winning a seat in the Zilla parishad in 2023.

He's known for helping to resolve local disputes, including family and land issues, acting as a mediator in these matters.
