Mulayam Singh Yadav, the founder of Samajwadi Party, was an Indian Politician with a prolific political portfolio. He was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for three sporadic terms from 1989 to 1991, 1993 to 1995, and 2003 to 2007. He's the father of Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. He is presently the MP of Azamgarh constituency. He served as the Defense Minister of India in 1996-1998. He was elected as the MLA of Uttar Pradesh for seven terms between 1974-2007. Mulayam Singh had a capricious alliance with various political parties until he finally decided to hang his hat in Samajwadi Party--the political party founded by him in 1992. He led his party to numerous victories establishing themselves as a formidable opponent in Uttar Pradesh.

Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away on 10 October, 2022 at Medanta Hospital Gurgaon/NCR, following to a brief illness.
