Kalyan Banerjee Biography

Kalyan Banerjee is a famous politician in West Bengal, who was born to Late Bholanath Banerjee and Late Sibani Banerjee in Asansol, Burdwan (West Bengal). He is a B.Com., LL.B Graduate and was Educated at Bankura Samilani College, Bankura and Ranchi Law College, Ranchi, Jharkhand. He married Chhabi Banerjee and has one son and one daughter.
On the professional front, he is a well-known advocate, who has been frequently taking up numerous cases for Trinamool Congress. He has been practising in Calcutta High Court since 1981. Amongst the cases he handled are the Rizwanur Rahman Case, matters relating to Nandigram, Chhota Angaria Case, Bhikari Paswan Case, Imposition of Sec-144 in Singur and different land acquisition cases.
An Advocate by Profession turned Politician is the member of the All India Trinamool Congress and has won the General elections, 2014 from the Serampore (Lok Sabha constituency). He was earlier elected to the 15th Lok Sabha from the same constituency. Also, in 2019, he won again for its third consecutive term as a member of parliament.
Notably, Banerjee visited U.K. and U.S.A. as a member of a parliamentary team in October 2009.
