Saket Gokhale

Saket Gokhle was born to Suhas Gokhale and Neela Gokhale in Jalgaon on 31st January 1987.

He was elected to the upper house of the Indian parliament, Rajya Sabha from West Bengal in 2023 as an All India Trinamool Congress member.

As a former foreign correspondent, he has traversed the globe covering an array of critical topics including foreign policy, war and conflict, and finance for esteemed global news outlets. His journey has taken him to the heart of Europe and across the expanse of Asia, where he has reported from the ground, offering firsthand insights into complex geopolitical landscapes.

Beyond journalism, he was recognised as an activist committed to transparency and the protection of civil rights. Leveraging tools like the RTI Act, he has tirelessly advocated for accountability and openness in governance, striving to empower individuals and uphold fundamental liberties.

Apart from social activism, he enjoys reading, plane-spotting, cooking, cycling, backpacking and DIY tinkering.
