Tiruchi‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Siva is a central Indian politician, a senior leader from Tamil Nadu, and a significant figure in the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party. Besides, as an outstanding parliamentarian, he is also the most sought-after policy advocate among Indian politicians with international recognition and prestige.

He has held the Rajya Sabha seat for several terms and committed himself to making a meaningful contribution to social justice and the upliftment of minority communities.

Siva, in 2025, is holding the position of Deputy General Secretary at DMK and, moreover, he is a very powerful, dominant, and decisive figure in the party as well as in the ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Parliament.

Tiruchi‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Siva comes from Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu, and before he went into politics, he completed his higher studies in arts and law. Politically, he became active during his student days, as he got involved in student agitation and joined the youth wing of D.M.K.

In 1978, he was the organiser of the DMK district students' wing. From 1982 to 1992, he held the position of Deputy Secretary of the D.M.K. youth wing, and from 1992 to 2007, he was the Secretary of the youth wing. With these positions, he not only helped to extend the party base but also made his mark as a devoted DMK leader.

He was elected for the first time as a member of the Lok Sabha from Pudukkottai in 1996. Tamil Nādu has been sending him to the Rajya Sabha since 2000, and he was re-elected there in 2002, 2007, 2014, and 2020. At present, he is best known for his eloquence and his fight for social justice. Besides, he has been energetically involved in the issues of minority and marginalised communities; apart from that, he is also a published Tamil writer and a supporter of social issues.

He was elevated to the position of Deputy General Secretary of the DMK in April 2025. Besides the committed work he is doing in the Parliament, he also manages to be present at the ground level for the party, embrace the party's strategies, and advocate for the legislative ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌issues
