Muthuvel Karunanidhi Alagiri commonly known as M. K. Alagiri, is an Indian politician from Tamil Nadu and was a Cabinet Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers from 13 June 2009 – 20 March 2013. He is the second son of the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M. Karunanidhi and his second wife Dayalu and the head of Dravida Munnetra Kazagham (up to 2014). He stepped into the land of politics from a very young age under the tutelage of his father. He faced a lot of hardships and controversies in his political career.
