Taslim Uddin Biography

Born in a farmer's family, Taslimuddin was first elected to the assembly elections in 1969 from Jokihat constituency. He was conspicuously absent from elections for almost two decades. In 1989 he won his first parliamentary election from purnea with a JD ticket. He successfully contested the following Lok Sabha elections under the RJD banner from Kashiganj in Bihar. In 2010 he fell from the good graces of Lalu Prasad Yadav and decided to leave RJD. He joined JDU for a brief period after that he was back with the RJD. He successfully contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from his hometown Araria. He died in 2014 after succumbing to some breathing problems in Chennai whilst he was attending a parliamentary meeting.
