T P Ramakrishnan Biography

T. P. Ramakrishnan is an Indian politician from the state of Kerala.At present, he serves as the Minister for Excise and Labour in the Pinarayi Vijayan ministry. He entered politics through students movements. His political innings started with Quilandy Taluk Secretary of KSF (1969) and later SFI (1970). He Became CPI (M) Member in 1968. He Actively engaged in Trade Union field and Agricultural workers organization from 1970.
He served as CPI (M) Kizhariyur Local Committee Member; CPI (M) Kadiyangad Local Committee Secretary for 3 years from 1973, CPI (M) Balussery Area Secretary for 2 1/2 years and Kozhikode District Committee Member from 1979. CPI (M) Perambra Area Secretary for 9 years from 1981.TP who was a member of Keezhariyoor local committee and secretary of Changaroth local committee. During the same period, CPM's labour association CITU was grown strongly at the Perambra Estate of the Plantation Corporation. Ramakrishnan Played a crucial role in building the union in plantation corporation which earned him a lasting recognition of an able labour leader in CPM.

Ramakrishnan's ministry gets appreciation for this scheme. under his ministry, Kerala government announced vimukthi mission, which aims to create awareness among the youth against substance abuse. this scheme also a big success in Kerala.
