Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharyya Biography

Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharyya was born to Nityaranjan Bhattacharyya and Avarani Bhattacharyya in Kalighat on 27th November 1951. He married Ibha Bhattacharyya in 1976 and was blessed with one son.

He was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2020 from West Bengal as a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist).

He has been an active member of the Committee on Finance and Committee on Papers Laid on the Table. Later he joins the Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth, and Sports.

He likes to read, recite and perform at theatres during his free time. He even performed as an actor in various theatre performances in India and abroad like a play namely "Natibinodini" was performed at Rasthrapati Bhavan before the Honourable President, Shri K.R. Narayanan. Various audio CDs and YouTube circulations of his performance are available on the Internet.
