Aishe Ghosh was born on October 22, 1995, in Durgapur, West Bengal. Later, she went to Delhi for further studies. After completing her graduation in Political Science from Daulat Ram College, Delhi University, she enrolled for post-graduation at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and then pursued an M.Phil. Her political engagement started when she became a member of the Students' Federation of India (SFI).
In 2019, she made a big national wave after being elected as President of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU), thus, for the first time in over ten years, an SFI candidate was able to achieve this position. In 2020, she became instrumental during student protests and the JNU violence incident; hence, she gained a lot of popularity within youth politics.
After leaving behind the world of campus politics, she opted for political participation in mainstream politics by joining CPI(M)’s organisational and mass outreach activities. She ran for the 2021 West Bengal Assembly election from Jamuria, thereby becoming one of the most vibrant young faces of the CPI(M), and she also remains committed to student and youth mobilisation activities.
