Siddiqullah Chowdhury was born on 31 August 1954 in West Bengal. He pursued religious and formal education and later became associated with Islamic scholarship and community leadership. Over time, he emerged as a prominent figure in socio-religious organisations, particularly through his involvement with Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind in West Bengal.

Before entering electoral politics, Chowdhury gained statewide recognition as a religious leader and organiser. He played a role in mobilising sections of the Muslim community in West Bengal through educational and religious platforms.
