Konidela Siva Sankara Vara Prasad, popularly known by his stage name Chiranjeevi, is an Indian Film Actor and Politician. Chiranjeevi started his career as an actor. Later on, he established the Chiranjeevi Charitable Foundation in 1998, which is involved in humanitarian activities.
He entered politics in 2008 by forming his party, the Praja Rajyam Party. In the 2009 Andhra Pradesh elections, Chiranjeevi contested from his native places, Palakollu and Tirupati. Later, his Praja Rajyam Party merged into the Indian National Congress. He was the Minister of State with independent charge for the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Chiranjeevi attended the Madras Film Institute and worked primarily in Telugu and then, in addition to Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi films.
