T. Siddique Biography

T. Siddique (born 1 June 1974) in Perumanna, Kozhikode, Kerala, pursued his education in commerce and law before entering politics. Growing up in north Kerala, he became actively involved in student leadership, laying the groundwork for a life in political organisation and public service rather than a purely professional legal career.

His early political work began with the Kerala Students Union (KSU), where he served as unit president and union chairman at Devagiri College and later at the Government Law College, Kozhikode. He also held positions in the Youth Congress at various levels, rising to become state president of the Kerala Youth Congress and taking on organisational responsibilities within the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee.

Siddique’s electoral journey has seen both wins and defeats. He contested and lost the Kasaragod Lok Sabha seat in 2014 and the Kunnamangalam Assembly seat in 2016, before successfully winning the Kalpetta Assembly constituency in 2021, reclaiming a Left Front stronghold for the Congress.

In addition to his legislative role, Siddique has been one of the Working Presidents of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee, contributing to party strategy and coordination.

As of 2026, he remains an influential Congress leader focusing on organisational affairs and regional development in Wayanad district.
