Kaushalendra Kumar of JDU was elected as the MP of Nalanda constituency in 2009 and he successfully retained the seat in the 16th Lok Sabha election in 2014. Primarily an Agriculturist, Kaushalendra Kumar is a supporter of agrarian and social reform. He's campaigned and fought for the legitimate rights of the weaker sections of the society. He was an active participant in the mass movement for the Broad Gauge rail track and the establishment of a Pan (Betel)Research Centre for the farmers. He also campaigned and fought for the Uderasthan, Punpun-Mohane River Project.
Apart from social activism, he holds an interest in badminton, cricket, chess, football and kabaddi.
