Dharambir Singh got elected as a member of parliament to the 17th Lok Sabha from Bhiwani-Mahendragarh constituency, Haryana. He won the Indian general elections in 2014 as a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate. During his political career, he became famous for defeating the three generations of Bansi Lal in the Haryana legislative assembly elections as he defeated Bansi Lal, then his son, Surender, then his granddaughter (Surender's daughter) Shruti Choudhry.
