Kombarana Ganapathy Bopaiah is shortly referred to as K G Bopaiah. He is the former Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He has also served as MLA from Virajpet Constituency as a candidate of BJP. In the 2023 assembly election, he got defeated by INC candidate A.S. Ponnanna from Virajpet constituency.
On the personal front, K. G. Bopaiah was born on October 17, 1951, at Kalur, Madikeri.
He was born to Kombarana Ganapathy and Chinnamma as the second son. Bopaiah completed the LLB degree as a gold medalist and then returned to Madikeri to practice law in 1980.
