Harnath Singh Yadav was born on April 1, 1941, in Gopalpur, Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, to Hukum Singh Yadav and Kaushalya Devi.
Starting from grassroots-level organisational roles, Yadav served as Tehsil Pracharak and Zila Pracharak for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (R.S.S.), later assuming the position of Sangathan Mantri for the Bharatiya Janata Party (B.J.P.) in the Agra Block. His leadership skills propelled him to higher positions, including Mahamantri of the B.J.Y.M. in Uttar Pradesh and Pradesh Mahamantri of the B.J.P. He also held the position of President of the B.J.P. Kisan Morcha in Uttar Pradesh.
In April 2018, Yadav's dedication to public service led to his election to the Rajya Sabha. Prior to this, he served as a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council from 1996 to 2008.
He has been a member of various parliamentary committees and he has been a member of the Committee on Welfare of Other Backward Classes (OBCs). Additionally, he has contributed to the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Education.
Furthermore, he has been a part of committees focusing on agriculture, animal husbandry, and food processing. Moreover, he was a member of the Committee on Official Language.
Apart from this, he was a member of the Court of the Aligarh Muslim University. Beyond his political and legislative endeavours, Yadav has been a vocal advocate for social justice, organising seminars, rallies, and Janjagran campaigns against various inequalities in society. His unwavering commitment to addressing the challenges faced by farmers and the unemployed has led him to face personal sacrifices, having been incarcerated eight times.
On a personal note, Yadav married Dhanvati Devi, and the couple has been blessed with two children. His net worth is Rs 1,02,30,873.
