Jishnu Dev Varma

Jishnu​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Dev Varma, a politically influential and urbane person, exuding the aura of the fine arts and scion of the Tripura royal family, has been the main locomotive in the state’s administration and the BJP’s growth in the northeast. In spite of being a humanities graduate, he has been the chief promoter of transparency in the administration and digital governance. After his association with the BJP, his political career got a big break, and he was elevated to the rank of one of the most important faces of the party in the political scenario of Tripura.

Varma, as the Deputy Chief Minister (2018-2023), was in charge of important departments such as finance, power, and rural development, and he made it his mission to the development of Tripura’s infrastructure and the economic stability of the state. His intervention was marked by the promotion of renewable energy, fiscal discipline, and the participation of all sectors in the growth process.

He is still a prominent personality in the politics of the state who challenges the BJP to organize and coordinate the party activities and who motivates them, besides being instrumental in the formulation and advocacy of development-oriented policies.
