Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Flag

The Election Commission of India reserves Car as the Bharat Rashtra Samithi election symbol. The Commission approved renaming from Telangana Rashtra Samithi to BRS on December 8, 2022. The symbol continued after renaming, anchoring the partys political identity on ballots and EVMs. The party also challenged lookalike free symbols before poll authorities.

Regarding the Bharat Rashtra Samithi flag, the party publicly uses a pink flag. It carries an India map and the party name. The Car motif appears across campaign materials and the Party Logo, aiding recognition. The ECI allots election symbols; flags are party devices and not allocated by the Commission.

BRS: Symbol safeguards

The party has urged deletion of confusing symbols such as camera, chapati roller, ship, road roller. In October 2023, the Supreme Court declined to restrain allotments. It noted voters can distinguish a car from a road roller. The Election Commission of India continues reviewing representations.

Alliances did not alter the reserved Car. TRS allied with the Congressled front in 2004, then joined 2009 Maha Kutami in Andhra Pradesh. Days before counting, it declared support to the NDA at a Ludhiana rally. Throughout, candidates continued with the Car; Party Abbreviation is now widely used as BRS.
