Sudip Bandyopadhyay Biography

Businessperson by profession, Sudip Bandyopadhyay was born on 10th December 1952 in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal. He is currently a Member of Parliament of India. Bandyopadhyay remained a member of the Lok Sabha for five terms, serving in the 12th, 13th, 15th, 16th and 17th Lok Sabhas. He represents the Kolkata Uttar constituency of West Bengal and is a member of the Trinamool Congress political party. He got married to Nanya, who is an MLA from Chowranghee constituency. He started his political career during the 1980s. He has been a member of West Bengal Legislative Assembly for four terms and Member of Parliament for three terms. He held several posts during his political career. He is also a Leader of Party in the Lok Sabha. Bandyopadhyay had tendered his resignation twice from West Bengal Legislative Assembly to contest for Lok Sabha elections.
