Shamanur Mallikarjun

He​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ is a Shamanur Mallikarjun, who is a politician from Davanagere district, Karnataka. He has been a part of political life by way of local political activity and party organisation. In the course of time, he strengthened his political foundation in Davanagere by addressing the issues of the town and the development of the constituency through his direct interaction.

In 1999, for the first time, he got elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly by defeating the opponent in the Davanagere South constituency. During the first term, his main focus was on urban infrastructure, local administration, and constituency outreach. His electoral success again and again made him a well-known political figure in the region.

Mallikarjun was re-elected consecutively as an MLA, and during the period of the Karnataka government from 2004 to 2008, he held ministerial positions related to municipal administration and local governance. This gave him executive experience along with his legislative role.

Incumbent in active electoral politics, he faced defeats in the elections later, but came back in the year 2023. He contested the Karnataka Assembly elections from Davanagere South and got elected; therefore, making a political revival. As a matter of fact, Shamanur Mallikarjun keeps on being an MLA, dedicating his time to the lawmaking branch, developing the constituency, and carrying on with the party ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌affairs.
